Meet the owner
Thanks for visiting our website. I wanted to create a space where you can get to know me, my background and the reason behind starting Badd.
My name is Tim White, but most people call me T.White, my fascination with bikes began when I was about 8 years old, watching my dad overhaul a Schwinn cruiser from scratch. Little did I realize the profound impact that experience would have on my life.
I dropped out of school at a young age and spent my time moving between a bike shop in Vancouver and a bike wholesaler in New Zealand, in pursuit of the never-ending riding summer.
In 2008, I established a bike shop, T.White's Bikes, which is still operational today. Although I no longer own it, I spent a decade providing bikes to New Zealanders.
Subsequently, I immersed myself in bike culture and embarked on building my own legacy with Badd. As a collector of various vintage items, one of my passions was vintage Oakleys. Witnessing the skyrocketing prices of these items while admiring their timeless style, I made it my mission to create my own version. I aimed to capture the classic aesthetic and incorporate advanced features. Because of my history in the bike industry I leaned on one of my connections to link me with one of the top factories in China. The learning curve is a steep one, but after countless samples and prototypes the 855 was born.
Since the inception of Badd in 2000, I have come to understand that this venture serves a greater purpose. At the core of Badd is the endeavor to encourage people to embrace cycling, and with our distinctive art, style, and engaging events, we are constantly providing a pathway for people to have bicycles embedded into their DNA.
Our products represent a unique style, quality, and materials with prices that might upset other brands but it won't be the first time.
